Sporting Programs

Combination Bowls

Our combination bowls program alternates between carpet bowls and ten-pin bowling. This program gives our service users the opportunity to take part in a sport; as well as gaining exercise, improving fitness and most of all – having fun!

Community Gym

In our community gym program, our service users take part in an exercise regime that is specifically tailored to meet the needs of a person with a disability. This program is run by a qualified fitness instructor and is held at the Lifestyle Gym in Wodonga.

Riding for the Disabled

Our ever-popular riding for the disabled (RDA) program introduces our service users to horses; and teaches them how to ride, groom and care for them.

Swimming

Swimming is an integral part of Australian life, and our swimming program has a lot to offer our service users. The program takes place in the heated pool at Murray Valley Centre, and is run by a qualified swimming instructor from Wodonga Leisure Centre. The program teaches water confidence, improves swimming ability and instructs on how to maintain physical fitness.

Our swimming facilities at Murray Valley Centre accommodate any individual, with our hydraulic lift allowing access even to our service users in wheelchairs. Having such facilities located on the Murray Valley Centre campus allows our service users to become comfortable in the swimming pool environment, and be free to focus on improving their swimming abilities, physical fitness or just have fun.

Ball Sports

Participants enjoy playing a variety of ball sports including cricket, AFL, tee-ball and soccer. This is a program for active people that like to do group activities both indoors and out.
